Никто не пишет про никон 12-24.
Для меня (D200) вопрос поиска решений в вопросе «ширик на кроп» закончился приобретением на барахолке этого объектива. Есть два нюанса для меня — размер объектива и «современная» зона размытия. В плане резкости и цветопередачи к этому объективу у меня вопросов нет. В общем пока буду снимать на кроп, со мной всегда будет никон 12-24, даже мыслей продать его или заменить чем-либо другим не возникает.
За 25 т.р. более чем реально найти 12-24 на барахолке в отличном состоянии.
Дисторсия, конечно, мне показалась побольше, чем в 20-35 на одних фокусных. Это субъективно, так как объективов не было у меня на руках одновременно. Но завалы зданий при съемке шириком, как я считаю, в большей степени зависят от кривости рук фотографа, не думаю, что другим шириком на тех же фокусных, с того ракурса, где я стоял, снимая эти здания, получилось бы лучше. Это мои косяки)
А если сомневаетесь — возьмите два стекла (например в аренду) между которыми выбираете и посмотрите реальную дисторсию на конкретном примере

Я с Вами соглашусь. Я кстати где то даже написал про эту линзу. Для кропа- великолепно. Для D90-отлично, для D7000 не видел.
У него кстати не так с «геометрией» драматично, как у того же 116.

Купил не так давно Nikon 12-24 за очень(на мой) взгляд большие деньги, появились сомнения по качеству объектива, а именно: есть мыльные места, т.е центр кадра очень хорошо, даже отлично начиная от f5.6 края так же очень хорошо начиная уже от F8 а вот, что между центром и краем не очень, вплоть до F11.
Заметно, если разглядывать полный кадр, особенно как прорисовываются деревья, мылит и всё!
Может кто-нибудь сталкивался с такой проблемой на этом объективе!?
Сильные стороны, это всё остальное, начиная от конструктива и заканчивая цветопередачей, контровый свет просто класс!
Заметны хроматические абберации, в пределах допустимого!

Не берусь комментировать Ваш случай, но расскажу о своем — может быть, пригодится.
Тоже поначалу разглядывал пейзажные снимки, сделанные с данным объективом, на полном кадре (т.е. 100 %), и тоже то там, то здесь находил мыльность — пока не напечатал первые снимки с этой линзы в формате 30х45 см.
После этого все сомнения исчезли — объектив в классе широкоугольных зумов достойнейший.
А как он снимает средний план, например, в лесу — это просто сказка. И боке у него по-своему очень красивое, мозаичное.
Все-таки, как мне кажется, конечным продуктом должен быть отпечаток, пусть и полученный цифровым способом, а не картинка на мониторе.

Не далее как на прошлой неделе мне давали попользовать этот зум — Никкор 12-24/4. Впечатления сложились самые благоприятные!
И объектив настолько понравился, что захотелось его непременно купить!
В данное время я «закрываю широкий угол» Никкором 20/2.8. Однако дискретник этот, увы, уступает в универсальности 12-24.
По качеству же получаемой картинки у них паритет. Мое ИМХО

Для съемки нормального пейзажа оптимально фокусное растояние от 24мм, все что короче уже «экстрим» и в пейзаже применяется не так часто. Однако если Вас все же интересует сверширокие объективы, которые в основном нужны в репортаже, в пейзаже в меньшей степени, то это Tokina 11-16/2.8, Nikkor AF-S 12-24mm f/4G IF-ED DX, Sigma 10-20 и Tamron 11-18. Два последних я крайне не рекомендую. Токина пожалуй самы лучший выбор на кропкамеры, она даже выигрывает у родного, но уж очень узкий диапазон, к ней надо что то еще. А с учетом ее цены, около $800, Ваш бюджет на широкий угол будет не маленьким. Можно конечно еще посмотреть старую Сигму 12-24, она не плоха. Если у Вас ничего нет и Вы не занимаетесь профсъемкой, то лучше посмотреть в сторону родного 12-24. Если у Вас есть объективы от 20мм и дальше и Вы понимаете все загадки и фокусы сверширокоугольных, то можно купить 11-16-это лучший выбор на сегодня.
Я Токиной отснял несколько поездок на D300, очень хорошо все. Но как правило таскал за собой еще и 20/24/35
Если все же говорит о полной отдаче, то это родной, 11-16 и старая сигма, остальное от лукавого
